The Affordable Shopping Instagram publications are designated with a small shopping bag icon. When users browse the social network, they see a pop-up window to see products in the lower-left corner or a small white circle with the shopping bag icon. These posts are identified by the little shopping bag icon in the upper right corner of the message image in an account profile.
When Instagram users see your shoppable post, they can tap the image to see the product details. Pop-up windows appear with their names and price information.
When users tap on the product details tag, Instagram opens a new page in the app where they can see more information and a large image of the product. Clicking the buy now button takes them to the company’s website to add the item directly to the shopping cart and check out.
The whole process of viewing a product on Instagram and proceeding to purchase is perfect for the customer. The transaction, however, is completed outside of the app, directly on the company’s website.
